| RCB in final after de Villiers' (79*) masterclass chase against Gujrat Lions |
AB de Villiers is a
SUPERMAN. He can do what he wants to do at his own will. It was like he is the
wall of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. It seemed like Kohli played a safe game by bowling first and to chase down the total compiled by Gujrat Loins. It was the crucial match because the team winning this match would go to the finals directly. Gujrat Loins also thought that they would give their 100% and would set a huge target for the very strong oppositions but when the match started and GL went on to play, they were showing ordinary batting skills and nobody made their impact from the top order to middle except Dr. Smith who compiled a good score of 73* and bought GL in a good situation by setting a decent looking target of 159 for RCB. From the RCB bowling department, Shane Watson did tremendous job by picking 4 wickets and giving away only 29 runs.
In the form RCB is,
it was looking that they will reach the target quit comfortably after all they
have the world class players which are in tremendous form including Kohli, de
Villiars, Watson.
But there was twist
created GL when RCB players came for batting. Hats off to Dhawal Kulkarni
bowling wo took 4 crucial wickets and gave away only 14 runs in his dream spell
of his life, RCB was on the backfoot and it was clear that GL was going to win
that match but the superman AB de Villiers was there on the crease and hopes
were there that till he is onthe crease, RCB were i the match and then the time
came in the final overs when he started cruising to the target and thanks to
Abdulla who sticked there with AB till the end and RCB won the match in 18.2
overs. Ab made 79* in his superman innings.
AB de villiers was
the man of the match of his 79* and taking his team from danger to win the
match.
